Research Worker for Family/Genetic Study of Anxiety, Columbia University/New York State Psychiatric Institute

We are looking for a PhD or ABD level candidate to work on a genetic study of anxiety.  Applicants must have some clinical experience and interest in clinical aspects of research but also background and skills in either psychophysiology/neuroscience or programming/data analysis (SAS or equivalent preferred).  The position includes opportunities to participate in protocol development and paper writing, etc. 

We would like to start someone in late May or early June 2008 to allow for a one month overlap to receive training from our current person. We would also prefer a full-time commitment, though 80% would be possible.

Part-time Opening for a Research Assistant/MATLAB Technician at Osher Institute Lab at Harvard Medical School this Summer

We are looking for motivated recent graduates, preferably with a background in neuroscience and/or psychology and experience with MATLAB to work on studies related to the neuroscience of meditation.  This research will use a combination of behavioral methods and MEG. Responsibilities will include working with established psychophysics protocols using programs such as PRESENTATION, and reporting experimental results using programs such as MATLAB. As part of the laboratory team, the successful applicant may assist in the design of experiments and tests and have opportunities to make creative contributions to the laboratory's research. This is a one year term appointment.
